Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan and line with parchment paper with overhang on the long sides.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the gluten free flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves until combined.
In a large bowl, whisk the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs vigorously for 1-2 minutes until pale and slightly thicker. Add pumpkin puree, oil, milk, and vanilla, and whisk until smooth.
Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and fold gently with a rubber spatula just until no dry streaks remain. Do not overmix.
Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top. Optionally, run a thin bead of melted butter down the center to encourage a natural split, and sprinkle with turbinado sugar or pecans.
Bake on the center rack for 60-70 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Tent with foil at the 50-minute mark if browning too quickly.
Cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes, then lift out by the parchment overhang and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely for at least 30-45 minutes before slicing.
